         The Spring Glen Garden Club, a charter member of the Federated Garden Club of Connecticut, Inc. and National Garden Clubs, Inc since 1929 , will be holding its first meeting of the 2016-2017 season on Monday September 12, 2016 at 11:45 pm. at Lockwood Cottage 890 Evergreen Ave. Hamden, Ct.  After a brief meeting the speaker will begin at 1pm.  The speaker will be Gina Mita former school teacher, active in community and church and President of the Wallingford Garden Club.  Gina’s topic will be “Cooking, Baking and Garnishing with Herbs and Edible Flowers”.  This will be a power point presentation geared to cooking, baking and garnishing with fresh herbs and edible flowers that are grown in the home garden; short introduction to growing culinary herbs –finding places in your yard that are suitable for herb cultivation; and many different ways to use your bountiful harvest deliciously.
