Not many people know that Connecticut was the first state to pass a law prohibiting the use of toxic lawn pesticides at all day care centers, and all public and private schools with children in grade 8 and below. The Watershed Partnership was a lead organization in getting this law passed. I am a physician and director of the nonprofit environmental organization called the Watershed Partnership.
I would like to give a presentation on why this law was adopted and the problems with toxic lawn pesticides. It will include examples of lawns and turf maintained without the use of toxic pesticides and what can be done to extend this protection of children, pets, and all of us from exposure to these toxic chemicals.
Please let me know if you are interested and we can work out the details.
